7 Years, Multiple Promotions, Then 10 Minutes To Log Off

A normal work day, i was working on my safety management protocol for one of my studies. I got an invite from PV (pharmacovigilance- which is my department) director that a meeting is scheduled- no agenda, no reason, just blank invite at 5:30 (which is end of the work day), later HR is also being added. No one else had this invitation from India team apart from me and another employee (came to know only after the lay off). The team itself was small (14) and they were getting rid of the senior position/ Lead due to restructuring. Around 5:30 HR and PV director joined the call and delivered the bad news that i am no more with the organization! They gave me 10 minutes to close everything and log off- i couldnt even say good bye to my team whom i worked with for 7 years! The same company that gave me multiple promotions and recongnitions wanted me no more! Just Corporate things!
